As I am seeing a surge in my productivity both on personal and professional front , I was wondering what is changing ...
Is it me ?
Is it the company of new people or
Is it external enviornment ?
I am calling this as my THIRD Inning.....
My First inning was my education period,
My Second Inning was my job life and now
My Third Inning is all about myself ....
- My freedom ,
- My life ,
- My passions and
- The ways I always wanted to be ...
In my First and Second Inning -
I was running towards my External happiness, a world focused on achievements and how much more I could gather...
- Awards ,
- Recognition ,
- Materialistic lust and
- To be No. 1 in everything I do
Since the parameter was OUTSIDE to INSIDE... my happiness was always limited and short term..
Everytime I loose or miss out in achieving my goals ...I used to feel angry , stressed and more anxious ...Ultimately discontentment and unhappy feeling ...
My III innings is full of life and I enjoy what I do , Now the parameter is reversed - Its INSIDE to OUTSIDE and not the other way round.....which means my inner happiness is becoming more important than outer world... leading to more inner peace and satisfaction
HOW MY THIRD INNING STARTED....
First, I listed out all my HABITS that were pulling me DOWN and also those HABITS that are keeping me UP ... this gave me clarity on , where I need to focus more and at the same time , what I have stop !
And then I made a list of new HABITS , that was needed for my happiness ( both internal and external)
NEW HABITS ADDED !
1. POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
Whenever I face challenges , I become careful, what and how I speak to myself ..
I have stopped criticizing myself and rather encouraging myself by feeding positive Affirmations and remain energetic through out .
2. AIM FOR EXCELLENCE and NOT PERFECTION
I have started accepting myself as I am ...
I appreciate my uniqueness and respect others uniqueness too ...
So more than perfection , I work on my present day ... this gives me more contentment and happiness every day
3. SPEND TIME WITH DEAR ONES
Everyday, I spend 30 to 40 minutes with my parents over a cup of tea in evening .
Their company gives me very high positivity in life and I feel much more relaxed ..Followed by my kids during bed time ...
4. EXERCISE and PROPER SLEEP
I am passionate fitness freak , on a given day , I spend at least 60 to 90 minutes on my physical fitness through various games like Badminton , Soccer , running and physical strength exercises...
This gives me inner happiness and peace of mind ..
Likewise I ensure that I take proper sleep of 6 to 7 hours , this not only relaxes my body and muscles , which brings immense positive and happy mood swings , keeping me motivated to overcome my challenges
5. BEING THANKFUL
Inner Happiness is a state of mind , linked to many things .. I always thank God for all what I have and given to me in the form his blessings ...
HABITS THAT I HAVE STOPPED !
1. Watching News channels
( Breaking News in particular)
2. Reading Newspapers
( particularly the front page)
3. Complaining and Comparing with others
4. Workoholic attitude and
5. Feeling of powerlessness
HOW MY III INNING IS SHAPING UP !
With all the focus on my new HABITS , I don't get time to think or do my old habits ( which used to pull me down)...
My new HABITS makes me feel and look more comfortable , which makes me attractive to others .. this is because of contentment and internal satisfaction .
Life Has Become Easy As I Now Know,
And learned how to remain happy inside , particularly when you are going through unfavorable situations ..
